Fix It, Don't Bin It!

How it works

Come along to one of our Repair Café sessions, bring your broken items, and sit with a cuppa while our friendly volunteers try to fix them. It's free, though donations are welcome.

Come Along

Find your nearest Repair Café from our list below. Just drop in during our opening hours — no appointment needed.

Stay & Watch

We work on a first-come, first-served basis. Sit with our volunteer repairers and see how your item gets fixed.

Enjoy a Cuppa

While you wait, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, chat with other visitors, and learn something new.

💡 How you can help us help you

  • Clean your item — it's much nicer for our volunteers to work on
  • Bring all the bits — leads, chargers, manuals, broken parts, screws
  • Bring batteries — if your item needs them
  • Arrive early — we work on a first-come, first-served basis

Note: We do our very best, but repairs are offered on a best-endeavours basis. We can't guarantee everything will be fixable or perfect afterwards, but we'll always try our hardest.

✅ What we can try to fix

Our volunteers have recently fixed:

Garden tools Kitchen tools Toys Bikes Lights Clothes Laptops PCs Vacuum cleaners Chairs Jewellery Sharpening Upholstery and more

Sharpening and upholstery are not always available — email us beforehand to check.

❌ What we can't fix

Unfortunately, for safety reasons, we cannot repair items where we can't test whether they'll be safe to use afterwards:

Cane furnitureElectric blanketsMicrowavesFridges & freezers

Or anything our volunteers consider unsafe to work on.

Not sure? Email us beforehand with brief details of your item and we'll let you know if we can help.

Why repair matters

Repairing instead of replacing helps create a more sustainable, connected, and skilful community. Here's why repair matters:

Reduce waste

Keep items out of landfills and reduce environmental impact. Every item repaired is one less in the bin.

Build community

Connect with neighbours and share skills. Repair Cafés are social spaces where people come together.

Learn skills

Discover how things work and gain repair confidence. Watch, learn, and try it yourself next time.
